There's actually a shrub in my yard just like the one in your photo. It's out back far enough that I forgot to visit it for butterfly photos this summer. Maybe next year.
I always thought this was zebra swallowtail. Once in awhile we see the tiger swallowtail here where I live in northern Nevada. I grew up in Western Oregon, where both colors were present. The tiger swallowtail was always yellow, the zebra was the color in your photo. Perhap common names differ with regions. Whatever the case, the insect is beautiful.
